Our deep fishing waters in the Irish Sea and the North East Atlantic off the coast of Northern Ireland provide the perfect conditions for our world class langoustine prawns. Slightly bigger than our European rivals (and we believe a whole lot tastier!), we’re proud that our prawns are served up on plates and barbecues around the world. As a fishing co-operative we catch them, land them, process them, sell them and distribute them, meaning more money goes direct back into our fishing communities through our fishing families and local team.
Our species is the famous Dublin Bay Prawn, latin name: Nephrops norvegicus, a member of the lobster family, known also as the Norway Lobster. It’s larger relative explains why they are so big and so tasty! Locally the Northern Irish langoustine prawn is known as the Clochy.
Public: Depending in where you are and the order size, we might be able to courier them to you. Find out more at the Sea Source Seafood Shop
Langoustine prawns from Northern Ireland are genuinely world class. But there’s no point us taking all that care to get them out of the water for you if they are damaged in the processing and packaging. We have a fantastic local team of processors, many of whom are related to our fishing families, who we train up to be highly skilled folks who will help us to deliver you a world class prawn, every time. That’s our guarantee!
Handled with care to deliver a world class prawn, every time:
We don’t just catch them and land them – we know a thing or two about cooking them too! We have a recipes section where some of our favourite langoustine prawn recipes, from chef’s who support our fishing families and members of the public who have sent them, are available for you to download and have a go with. So be our guest and if you create a Bobby Dazzler of a dish you’d like to share, send it to us or post it up on social media and tag with #seasourceNI and #NIseafood to bring it to our attention and to be put on the site. Enjoy! Head to the recipes section here >>
